The Day of the Dead shoot was inspired by Jewel Photo owner Julie Turner's travels to Mexico. She fell in love with all the beautiful colors and wanted to bring the experience into her world of wedding arts.
She joined forces with Mexican makeup artist Veronica Nunes of Makeup by V who specializes in Dia De Los Muertos makeup. Working with someone who knew history and culture was perfect match!
The perfect wedding dress was from her favorite bridal shop The Wedding Dress in Portland and the owner Shelly Bailey fashioned the dress with a long black veil and and black velvet belt. So perfect! The Groom's outfit was less complex, but still smart in style. Especially the Bow Tie.
Jewel found the bridesmaids dress immediately while out and about at Jewel's favorite vintage store Never Say Goodbye in Middletown.
The set design came from items in the Jewel Photo Studio and vintage treasures from Never Say Goodbye. Fancy Nancy Designs pulled everything together to create the set design in total. Delectable cupcakes from Nora Cupcake Co. ended up bringing all the vibrant colors together. And they tasted super yummy!
